The first generation of Parlay VoXip with ISDN2 Interfaces has been in the market since 2004. These ISDN – VoIP Gateways from Voxtream have been introduced to the market in two general categories “Standard” and “Advanced”.
VoXip 104, 108 and 116 have 2, 4 and 8 ISDN2 interfaces and 4, 8 and 16 IP channels respectively. They are available in both Standard and Advanced models and the ISDN2 interfaces can be configured as NT-or TE ports in pairs. The configuration of ISDN interfaces is made by the Voxtream technicians based on the customer’s order upon shipment of the device. If necessary it is possible to change this configuration by changing the position of few jumpers inside the VoXip unit.

The 2nd generation of Parlay VoXip has a modular structure which means that it can be configured in different ways. On the motherboard of VoXip2 there are 4 free slots to be used for mounting the interface cards. Also two different interface cards are available:
- ISDN2 with 4 x BRI interfaces
- ISDN30 with 2 x PRI interfaces
A combination of maximum 4 different cards can be used in the VoXip and all ports can easily be configured as NT or TE interfaces by changing the setup in configuration. This modularity and flexibility make it possible to connect the Parlay VoXip to any ISDN equipment or ISDN network as it can convert between VoIP, ISDN2 and ISDN30.
One of the most important advantages regarding VoXip2 is that this product supports the compression codec G729.
